Mark Clement needs to have students run we applications in the Linux lab and have students connect to those ports from other locations. Some solutions:

• students can use a VPN
• students can buy Digital Ocean VPS

Mike Goodrich had a meeting with OIT and the deans and was told that OIT preferred to run all wireless on campus. Our requests: (a) that they do a heat map to ensure the building is well covered, (b) we would like our own SSID that connects to our network, © we would like two 10 Gbps uplinks, (d) they provide strong customer service when it breaks and affects the entire department. Research labs that need wireless should be covered.

We will not be charged for the service.
