Part 1:

Submit a brief summary of your cognitive walkthrough experience (half page minimum). Some items you might include are:

  • What did you contribute to the walkthrough?
  • What are the pros and cons of a cognitive walkthrough based on your experience?
  • What would you do differently in the future?
  • Is this a useful method that you envision you might use in the future?
  • Any other useful comments/questions/suggestions.

Part 2:

Usability Training:

Please complete the institutional Review Board (IRB) training that is required for all usability researchers to participate on IRB-approved projects. Go to https://orca.byu.edu/IRB/irbtutorial.php and complete the CITI training. Scroll down the page to find the CITI link.

Submit a brief writeup of your experience:

  • Indicate which parts of the training you were able to complete. Plan on devoting about 2 hours of effort and see how much of the training you can complete. Some students have completed this training in the past year. You may need to review parts of the training to answer items 2-3 below. I plan to repeat the training, paying special attention to requirements for minors since we plan to conduct research this year using high school students.
  • Provide a bullet list of 3-5 items listing the most interesting things that you learned during your training.
  • Provide a bullet list of questions or issues you would like to discuss in class.

Submit your written deliverables to Learning Suite for HW 7 and have a copy available in class to help drive our discussion. You will NOT be exchanging copies with classmates for review.
